New Moon
If a horse could growl, then I'd be roaring. Gah! How I so disliked my father...and his band that would one day be mine. There were times when I felt like I could hit my head against a really hard rock, especially when my father was strutting around, all perfect-like. As I stood in the shadows, hoping no one would see me, I yawned. Herd life could be so boring.

I snort as I look down on the herd and see them all minding there leader so easiley."Stupid mares."I mumble to myself."Knowone will ever control me."I say a little too loudly.I can see a colt below me and I hope he didn't see and hear me.

Ah, music to my ears. I could just hear that horse's mumbling, about how he didn't like to be controlled. He lean down a bit so he could hear me whispering. "Hello, my friend." Something between a smile and a sneer appeared on my black face. "Care to join my little party?" This horse had better not try anything funny, beccause there was me and a waterfall to witness his death, if needed.

"No,thanks."I reply in my softest voice to show I was a girl and then I snorted and kicked dirt down on top of him and trotted the other direction laughing melodaly to myself yet loud enough for him to hear it."That ought to show you." I say loudly.

"Show who? Dear old me? Aw, that's not nice, dearie, what did I do to you?" I smiled again, showing a tiny flash of my pearly whites. I stomped one of my black hooves, sending up a small cloud of pebbles and dust. "Don't tell me you like living in a herd!" I laughed out loud, showing my glee, my cruel, cold glee.

"I have no herd and I never will BELONG to one."I replied coldly and shooting blue ice from my left eye and black from my right,I stalked toward him and snorted angerly baring my teeth."And don't goat me,it could get you killed."I said in a deathly low calm voice.Then I promptly turn and walk over to eat grass and watch him from the corner of my eye."If you think that will get you a herd you're sadly mistaken."I whispered loudly to myself.

I felt a little bad for the way I was treating him so I turned around and walked over to him."Look,I've got nothing against you it's just I've been controled my whole life and the thought of going through that again,you know the don'ts and do's of the 'BOSS'drives me crazy. I just wanted you to understand that alright?"I hoped he didn't think I was crazy,but he had to know why I was so grouchy and defensive.

Dawn Runner:
Might Fiery and i were taking our little herd, me, him, and our newborn foal, Gold Sun to the river for a drink and refreshing cool down. i stop and hear voices, "Fiery, i dont think we should go. do you hear that? it sounds like another stallion and mare. they could easily take me and our son away," i said to my young stallion. i looked at my son he was too young to see a fight between his dad and another stallion. "Gold cant handle that yet," i told him again. i looked forward to where we were going.
Gold Sun:
"mom even though im only a baby, i can handle it," i said to my mother. i was born about 2-3 weeks ago and i felt as if i have been in this strange world for years. mom and dad stopped and they started fighting about going. dad won, like usual! we kept moving forward until, i heard the roar of the waterfall. the mist was flying up from the waters edge. "wow! its beautiful," i said to my mom.
Mighty Fiery:
we walked in silence after the fight, until we came up to the waterfall. my only mare was right there was a stallion and mare fighting. "Dawn i dont think we should have come. the black stallion over there is New Moon, the Phantom's son," i said with a gulp. Dawn and Gold walked over to the water and took a drink. well Gold had some of his mom's milk and Dawn had the river's water. i looked at the stallion and i think my heart stopped.

Dancing Moonlight:
I hear other horses and walk toward them. It was a stallion and his mare. "Hello." I say quietly and watch as the stallion looks behind me and freezes. I turn to see the other stallion behind me and I lay my ears back at him. "Go away you good for nothing colt." I say as I take a step toward him. "You leave them alone. or so hepl me I'll kick the livin' daylights out of ya!" I yell and give the other the go ahead to run. I hear them take off and stand ground until I don't hear anything but my own breathing and the waterfall. I slowly back up and turn running after the others. I go past them and run faster.'I hope they want to talk to me.' I think but know they probably will.

"hey," i say to the tough mare. "my name is Dawn Runner. this is my son Gold Sun and my herd stallion Mighty Fiery," i tell the mare my herd member's names. "what is yours and the balck stallion's? Mighty says that he is New Moon the Phantom's son. is that true?" i say to the mare.
Gold Sun:
"hello." i say to the mare
Mighty Fiery:
"im telling you Dawn that is the Phantom's son, oh and hello." i say to the stund and out of breath filly. "this is my herd," i tell her to inform the other stallion and her.

I stop and listen to them introduce themsevles. "I'm Dancing Moonlight, Or Moonlight. And yes that's the Phantom's son Moon." I watch there face and say. "I'm not his mare. In fact we'd just met when you came upon us. SO don't fear that he'll come after you for me." I pace and stop looking at them again.

"nice to meet you Moonlight," i said to the mare, then turned to my stallion. "so you arent in a herd at all?" i asked her. "well if you like to be in a herd you can join mine." i told her. "Mighty is new at the herding business but i'd love it if you join, so then i wouldnt be the only mare in the herd," i said laughing with the mare.
Mighty Fiery:
"we would love it if you would join my herd," i said stepping forward to the mare and looking behind her to see the black stallion moving closer to listen. "i was planning on having only palominos in my herd but i think that will be too hard to do, since there isnt that many palominos around here." i say to the mare to encourage her. "ha i told you so!!" i said turning to my mare and glooting in her face.
Gold Sun:
"yes please join," i say too to the mare. "you might look like an outcast but you still will be with horses that love you and you wont be alone anymore either, that is if you want to." i said to her and looked at her straight in the eyes.

I smile at the brave little colt. " I would like to join, but I'm not sure I'm the kind of mare your father wants. I'm a little to Independant for stallions tastes." I look at Dawn Runner and smile sadly. "Unless....Okay I'll be in your herd but you have to promise if at anytime I want to leave and come back or something like that you have to allow me to do it." I ask as I turn to Mighty Fiery with a questioning brow.
